Candidates in a fix as UPSC, MPPSC exam dates clash

BHOPAL: Candidates preparing for UPSC and MPPSC examinations are in a fix following announcement of prelims exam schedule by MPPSC on Wednesday. Reason: Preliminary exam of MPPSC 2015 will be held on December 20 and UPSC mains exams are already scheduled to start from December 18.

“Such a schedule should have been avoided by the MPPSC. It should have ensured that the dates did not clash with other similar and important exams. I am from Bhopal and preparing for UPSC mains in New Delhi. Now, it will not be possible for me to write the MPPSC prelims as I had opted for Bhopal centre in the application,” said a civil services aspirant Vikas Verma.

Another candidate, Shipra Rai said, “UPSC had announced the schedule of the exam long back. MPPSC should have considered it before announcing their own exam schedule.”

UPSC will organize exams from December 18 for next five days. Students are planning to write to the MPPSC, Indore, asking to change the dates of the exam.

When contacted, MPPSC secretary, Manohar Dubey said they will rectify the problem if there was any clash of exam dates. “Schedule was announced after taking all necessary precautions. But, we can shift the exam dates to help students. That should not be a problem,” Dubey said.
